The amazing discussion that led to the most popular website, Wikipedia blackout for 24 hours on January 18th 2012 ..

Im not really sure about why Wikipedia blackout for 24 hours but i think that it must be a very serious matter that led the websites to blackout for 24 hours. Based on what they say on the homepage, they say that they want to stop the SOPA and PIPA and i don’t know what is it ..

"Imagine a world without free knowledge" said Wikipedia on the homepage

Other websites that protests about this SOPA and PIPA are like Google, Reddit, Minecraft, Wordpress, Cheezburger Network,  Imgur, CDT, MoveOn.org, Mozilla and Twitpic but as far as i know they protests through words (except Google who censor ‘himself’)

but not like Wikipedia who shut the websites down for 24 hours. We should give a round of applause to Wikipedia and other websites for what they did ! *clap clap clap

I think you should read by yourself here , Wikipedia explanation why the website blackout and here and here to read about this issue on the other news.
